Untamed Review
Untamed by Glennon Doyle was recommended to me by several podcasts – which is actually where I get most of my reading suggestions!
Every podcast emphasized how important this book is especially in 2020. It covers a wide variety of topics that all tie into being your true self and breaking social norms.
It is no secret that society has created “labeled boxes” that we should all fit in. Be this, do that, and lose yourself in the process. We cannot lose ourselves.
The beauty about us, like Glennon addresses in Untamed, is that even if we lose ourselves we can break free from the cage and become who we really are.

Trust your gut and listen to it.
Society tries to convince us that being cold and emotionless is a strength. The real strength is in feeling the emotion and getting through it.
One of my favorite quotes from the book.
The “Not This” stage is not discussed enough. How will you ever figure out your path if you do not realize what you do not want? We are not all lucky enough to get on the right path instantly by chance.
When you find yourself on the wrong path, appreciate that you know what you don’t want – and move in a different direction.
Being true to yourself takes bravery.
The ones who want to silence you will always tell you you’re too loud. Use your voice and anger for a change!
When you feel attacked, first ask yourself why?
When you feel like all is lost, just remember you will find your way. The first step has to come from somewhere, even if somewhere is a dark place.
This quote stuck with me and I want to carry it with me. If someone is going to reach their dreams, why not you?
Set your boundaries and make them known.
